Decorator and eatery worker infected with coronavirus

Thirteen more people, incluuding two locals, have been diagnosed with the coronavirus disease, health oficials announced.

Eleven of the 13 new patients identified as of midnight, are those who arrived in Hong Kong, the Centre for Health Protection, said.

This takes the total patient tally to 1, 481 in Hong Kong so far, inlcuding 11,480 confirmed and one probable patient.

How the two locals became infected with the new coronavirus disease is not known, health officials said.

One patient is a 23-year-old man who developed a cough and diarrhoea on March 28. He had consulted a private doctor on March 29 and his sample submitted on the same day tested positive. He is a decoration worker and last went to work on March 27, the CHP reported.

The other patient is a 56-year-old woman who developed shortness of breath on March 29. She went to a community testing center for testing on March 30 and tested positive. She is a restaurant worker and last went to work on March 31.

Five Indonesian women, three Filipino women, two women from Pakistan, and man from Nepal, are among the 11 who arrived in the city and diagnosed with the coronavirus disease.

In the past 14 days to March 31, 127 people including 52 locals, have been diagnosed as infected with the coronavirus disease. The source of infection of 16 of the 52 locals, is not known, the CHP reported.
