The cyclone standby Signal, No 1 will remain in force for most of today based on the forecast for two tropical cyclones, the Hong Kong Observatory said.
Two tropical cyclones within about 800 kilometers of Hong Kong may affect the city, the HKO said.
At 7:00 a.m., the tropical depression near the southern part of Taiwan was estimated to be about 630 kilometers east of Hong Kong and is forecast to move northwest at about 22 kilometers per hour in the general direction of the coast of southeastern China.
The tropical depression over the central part of the South China Sea was estimated to be about 770 km south-southwest of Hong Kongand is forecast to move northwest at about 10 km per hour towards the vicinity of Hainan Island, the Observatory said.
