Coronavirus horror: UK death toll surges towards 5,000 - latest figures released

THE UK's coronavirus death toll has surged towards 5,000, after medical experts warned the peak was just days away.

Today officials confirmed 621 hospitals patients had died in 24 hours, bringing the total to 4,934.

It comes as No10 and Government oficials urged Britons to stay home, despite warm and sunny weather.

Matt Hancock today warned the Government could be forced to ban all outdoor exercise unless social distancing rules were obeyed.
