Construction of Metro Line 3 is planned to start next summer 2021

The President of the Republic of Panama, Laurentino Cortizo, announced that progress is being made on the Metro Line 3 project, to start work next summer in 2021.

He explained that it is an investment of more than $2.5 billion that in its construction phase will generate more than five thousand direct and indirect jobs and will benefit more than half a million residents of West Panama.

The project aims to communicate the western sector of the country with the province of Panama, connecting Metro Line 1 at the Albrook Station, thus reducing the average travel time in hours of traffic.

The construction plan for Line 3 is planned to start from Ciudad del Futuro (Panama West) to the capital city, and the completion of the work was established in 54 months.

The mega-work will have a 25-kilometer monorail extension, in two phases, which will depart from the Albrook station and will reach Ciudad del Futuro in 45 minutes. It will comprise 14 stations and will initially mobilize 180,000 people daily.
