Sky News host Erin Molan says there’s a “complete lack of clarity” from the US when it comes to its position on China and Taiwan.
“The US President has said that if China acted militarily then his country would intervene on behalf of Taiwan,” Ms Molan said.
She said the White House tried to walk those comments back, a move which is “almost textbook now”.
“But what does it actually mean? Does America have any idea what it will do if our worst nightmare eventuates?”
“The US is weak and divided right now ... yet, we need them to defend us if something goes wrong.”
