China has accused Britain of interference after the PM said he would offer millions of Hong Kong residents a path to UK citizenship.
Hong Kong chief executive Carrie Lam said: "Some of the foreign governments have been adopting blatant double standards in dealing with this matter."
UK-China relations have deteriorated over the past week, following Beijing’s move to implement a controversial new security law.
