Ceva-Phylaxia inaugurates biggest refrigerated vaccine warehouse in EU

French-owned Ceva-Phylaxia inaugurated a refrigerated vaccine warehouse, the largest in the European Union, in Monor, on the outskirts of the capital, on Tuesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

The warehouse will have the capacity for storing around 2.5 million ampoules of vaccine.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó noted that the warehouse is part of a larger, HUF 8.2 billion investment that includes a vaccine factory. The government is supporting the investment with HUF 1.6 bln in grant money, he added.

Ceva-Phylaxia has raised its headcount by 180 since the launch of the project.

Hungary's pharmaceutical industry employs about 35,000 people.
