An ambulance managed to drive between two rows of cars on a busy Yuen Long road in a scene that has drawn comparisons to Moses parting the Red Sea.

According to car camera footage, an ambulance was driving near a roundabout not far from Pok Oi Hospital. The road was congested, with two queues of cars moving forward slowly.

But once the drivers noticed the ambulance, they moved their cars to the sides of the road so the ambulance could pass.

Only after it passed did the drivers return their vehicles back to original positions.

“It's the correct driving attitude to give priority to ambulances,” a netizens praised. “It is what should be done,” another said.

According to traffic regulations, drivers must take any action possible to give way to ambulances, fire trucks or police cars with flashing signs. Those who breach the law face a fine of HK$2,000.
