Central China Floods: Death toll goes up to 33, thousands evacuated from Henan province

China has raised a red storm alert for four cities in the north of Henan - Xinxiang, Anyang, Hebi, and Jiaozuo. The provincial weather bureau told state media it had issued a report warning of the coming torrential rains two days in advance.

The heaviest rain in history hit the Chinese city of Zhengzhou, Henan province.

In just an hour, 200 mm of precipitation fell. The average annual rainfall in Zhengzhou is about 600 mm.

What is happening there now looks like the Apocalypse.

The whole city is flooded with water, cars are floating along the streets.

Residents of the city climbed trees and waited for rescue.

The subway cars are flooded, the passengers are helpless.

Houses and walls collapsed and several bridges were washed away.

More than 20 dead, many are missing, hundreds are trapped, the damage is enormous.

In 2021, natural disasters have become more frequent. We see signs of global warming and climate change in many countries around the world. It is not known how 2021 will end.
