CE-led delegation to attend APEC meetings in Thailand

Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu will attend the 29th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting in Bangkok starting this Friday.

Lee will depart for Thailand on Thursday morning. Apart from attending the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting to be held on November 18 and 19, he will also attend the Gala Dinner, the APEC Leaders' Informal Dialogue with Guests, and the APEC Leaders' Dialogue with the APEC Business Advisory Council.

The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Algernon Yau Ying-wah will depart for Bangkok tomorrow to attend the APEC Ministerial Meeting held on the next day, and accompany Lee in attending and participating in related activities.

After attending the APEC meetings, Lee will lead a Hong Kong business delegation comprising 20 high-level representatives from different sectors, including leaders of major chambers of commerce, to meet with Thai business leaders and visit major corporations in Bangkok to enhance bilateral trade and business co-operation with Thailand.

Lee will return to Hong Kong in the evening on November 20. During his absence, the Chief Secretary for Administration Chan Kwok-ki will be Acting Chief Executive.
