CE expresses condolences on the tragic stampede in South Korea

Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu expressed sadness about the tragic Halloween stampede in South Korea that caused heavy casualties. He also extended condolences to the families of the victims.

“It is with sadness that we learnt of the tragedy in Seoul, Korea. I express profound sorrow over the passing of the victims, extend my deepest condolences to their families and wish for a speedy recovery to all those who were injured,” Lee wrote in a Facebook post on Sunday.

He added that the government would pay close attention to the incident, and Security Bureau would monitor its development and stand ready to assist any Hong Kong residents that may need assistance.
