Cathay Pacific passengers evacuated following bomb hoax

Passengers on a Cathay Pacific flight were evacuated on emergency slides following a bomb hoax, with some bruised during the exit.

The flight CX390 landed in Beijing yesterday.

An emergency evacuation was arranged after authorities received messages concerning a supposed security threat.

It was understood that when police received a report about the bomb threat, the plane already left Hong Kong.

“Cathay Pacific is aware that a small number of passengers sustained minor bruises in the process. Appropriate medical care was provided and none of them required hospitalisation,” a Cathay spokesman said today.

Assistance and support will be offered to the concerned passengers. The airline will also continue to cooperate with the authorities on the investigation.
