Carrie Lam says she will go for the Sinovac jab

Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor wrote on her social media today that she will be getting the Chinese-made Sinovac jabs.

In a Facebook post, Lam said she had stated earlier that she would take the first kind of vaccine arriving in the city which was authorized for use.

The Sinovac jabs were expected to arrive in Hong Kong tomorrow afternoon, while the BioNTech vaccines are due to arrive late this month.

She also urged members of the public to make use of the “LeaveHomeSafe” app, stressing the contact tracing app is totally safe to use and will not pose any risks to the privacy of users.

She also said the app has now been downloaded more than a million times.
