The National Bank of Panama (BNP) reported that as of Monday, June 8, it will proceed with the reopening of eight of its branches amid the new normal allowed by the Ministry of Health (Minsa).
The branches to be opened are:
- Panama: Pedregal and Chanis
- West Panama: Chame
- Herrera: Los Pozos and Divisa
- Veraguas: Las Palmas
- Chiriquí: Alanje and El Carmen
“We carry out these reopens in support of the regions' economy, but we have all our virtual channels at your disposal, such as Online Banking, Mobile Banking, Telephone Banking and BEN, our innovative Electronic Wallet, so you don't have to leave home. But if you still have to visit any of our open branches, remember to use your mask at all times, ”said Javier Carrizo, general manager of Banco Nacional.
The BNP statement indicates that the hours of operation of these branches will be from Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, while on Saturdays they will work from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
All the venues are applying the sanitary protocols dictated by the Minsa for effective attention to the public, such as: social distancing, temperature taking and the mandatory use of the mask.
Previously, the institution announced the reopening of six of its branches that had been closed, as a result of the health situation imposed by the coronavirus, these being the headquarters of: Judicial Branch, Public Registry, La Arena de Chitré, 4 Altos de Colón, Bethlehem and Las Cumbres.
According to Carrizo, as of April 30, 2020, Banco Nacional de Panamá has total assets in the order of $12.7 billion. With a total loan portfolio amounting to $4.6 billion, which includes loans to the private sector for $4.3 billion. Total deposits amount to $11 billion and Capital Funds to $954 million.
