Singer-activist Tommy Yuen Man-on was forced to call off his concert scheduled next Thursday and Friday, after MacPherson Stadium told him the stadium will be closed by that time.

Yuen, former member of boyband E-kids, made the announcement today on Facebook, saying he was officially informed by the MacPherson Stadium that the stadium will be closed by that time and asked Yuen to cancel the concerts.

The concert is titled “Tommy Yuen Man-on Solo Concert 2046”.

He apologized to his fans and said he has so many to handle at the moment. He said he tried his best to ensure the show will be running but failed eventually.

He also questioned what's left in the city, now that not even a solo concert can be tolerated.

The cancellation of his concert came after earlier singer-activist Denise Ho Wan-sze, known by her stage name HOCC, was also forced to call off her concert.

Scheduled to be held at Hong Kong Arts Centre, the center told Goomusic, Ho's record label, that it has canceled Ho's booking.

The center said the cancellation was over a clause in its terms and conditions, citing “public order” concerns.
