Albania inflation rate climbs further in November

The annual inflation rate in Albania increased to 3.1% in November from 2.4% in the previous month, figures from the Tirana-based Institute of Statistics (Instat) showed.

It was the highest inflation rate since July of 2011. Prices for food & non-alcoholic beverages rose by 5% while transport costs went up by 8.8%.

Also, inflation quickened for housing & utilities by 1.7%, and prices for furniture, household goods & maintenance added 1.2%.

In addition, prices for recreation & culture advanced 3.8% and prices for hotels & restaurants increased 2.4%.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.2%, after a 0.1% uptick in October.
