The Public Ministry (MP) reported this Friday on the arrest of a subject in the Tolé district, Chiriquí province, linked to the rape of a 10-year-old girl.
The Public Ministry announced that the subject is 30 years old, and that the municipal representative have placed the accused under provisional arrest.
The victim's mother told that she found about the rape, after her 10-year-old daughter was found to be pregnant almost 6 months after the rape.
The mother who had had to leave her hometown, the community of the Common in Cerro Viejo, to work in the capital city, left her daughter to the care of her grandparents.
In the interview, the mother indicated that the girl at the time of the rape had not dared to report the fact, given that the accused had threatened her.
