500 regular quotas for HK non-commercial cars going to Macau via HZMB to be re-allocated

The transport authority announced the application of Hong Kong non-commercial private cars to go to Macau using the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) will be opened from today to January 16 with 500 quotas.

The quotas will be valid for three years, from earliest on April 6 this year to April 5, 2026, during which eligible people who hold the allocations can have their private cars travel between Hong Kong and Macao via the HZMB multiple times, said a spokesperson of the Transport Department on Wednesday.

According to the government, half of the 500 quotas are set for company applicants, and the remaining are for individual applicants.

The company quota is open for companies registered in both Hong Kong and Macau, or companies registered in Hong Kong and associated with another company registered in Macau.

The quota for individuals is open to Hong Kong permanent residents employed with remuneration in Macau or who have established a registered company in Macau.

"Eligible parties can apply for the Hong Kong quotas through the GovHK website from 9am on January 4 to 5.15pm on January 16," said the Transport Department.
