287 have died from Coronavirus in Panama; total cases 9,977, of which 110 new

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) announced on Wednesday afternoon, May 20, that the coronavirus has left a total of 287 dead in the country. There are 110 new cases of the virus in 24 hours.

According to official data, the total number of infected with the virus in the country is now 9,977, while 6,194 patients have recovered from the disease.

3,164 patients are in home isolation, of which 680 are in so-called hospital hotels.

The Ministry of Health also reported that 332 people are hospitalized; 264 in the ward and 68 in the intensive care units.

826 new tests have been conducted. The total tests are now at 52,641, of which 40,821 were negative.

Cases by provincest: Panama (6,324), Panama West (1,871), Colón (394), Veraguas (399), Chiriquí (276), Guna Yala (225), Darién (202), Coclé (85), Bocas del Toro (89), Comarca Ngäbe Buglé (79), Herrera (16) and Los Santos (17).
